The Role
VANTAGE is trusted by armed forces across five nations — and the number is growing fast. As our first dedicated Customer Success Manager, you will be the person who ensures every customer gets the full value of that trust. You will own the relationship from onboarding through renewal, working directly with military academies, operational commands, simulation centres, and defence research organisations.
This is not a passive account management role. Our customers are sophisticated, demanding, and operating in high-stakes environments. They expect a partner who understands their world, anticipates their needs, and helps them get more out of the platform over time. In return, you will have a front-row seat to some of the most operationally interesting wargaming and AI-enabled decision-support work happening in NATO today.
What You Will Own
• Customer onboarding — guiding new military organisations from contract signature to running their first wargames confidently
• Ongoing success — regular check-ins, training sessions, and proactive engagement to ensure customers achieve their operational objectives
• Renewal and expansion — identifying opportunities to deepen engagement and grow accounts within existing customer organisations
• Voice of the customer — bringing structured feedback from military users back to our product and engineering teams
• Documentation and training materials — building the resources that help customers become self-sufficient and skilled
• Events and demonstrations — representing VANTAGE at customer sites, exercises, and defence conferences
Why This Role Is Unusual
Most Customer Success roles are about renewals and NPS scores. This one is about helping military planners, officers, and defence educators get more out of a platform that genuinely affects how they prepare for — and think about — complex operational challenges. When a customer at the Norwegian Naval Academy tells you their officers make faster, better decisions after using VANTAGE, you will know your work contributed to that. Not many Customer Success roles offer that.
Requirements
Essential: Experience in customer success, account management, or a client-facing role in a B2B technology environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working with technically complex products and translating them for non-technical users.
A strong plus: Background in or strong familiarity with defence, military organisations, or national security. Experience working with government or public-sector customers. Fluency in a second European language, particularly Norwegian, German, Dutch, Spanish or French.
